I’m a very happy bunny today as I’ve just secured my first piece of significant SEO business and I’m soo excited. It seems all my hard work is starting to come together, the feeling is indescribable.
The shared work has been a major contributory factor. Its great to be able to share my office space (currently one desk, a computer and a phone) with a load of other like minded people such as Trenton and Tim and the usability folks from Webcredible. Their work ethic, client handling skills and talents set a real example for me. They’re also exceptionally helpful and I am learning loads about the respective fields of usability and Web Accessibility. Mat Brown, an old pal from the dot com 1.0 downturn, an affiliate marketing expert formerly of dgm is renting the last available desk next to me, he’s excellent value as has integrated seemlessly into the overall vibe.
The other great spin off is the sharing of work ideas and contacts between us all, today was we all went skype Crazy, I’m hooked and I’ve just bought a new head-set which will save a few quid on the calls.
Google gave BMW a major shooing on wednesday by banning their German site, www.bmw.de as announced on Matt Cutts website http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/ and followed up 2 days later in metro and Evening standard. Frankly I thought it was quite funny how a major corporate has been so brutally exposed for spamming google through creating door-way pages and hidden text on their German website. For all Google’s recent criticism over China they are still brave enough to give the corporate hi rollers a decent Search shooing, long may it continue.
Have been listening to the latest Ricky Gervais Podcasts on Guardian Unlimited, superb; http://www.guardian.co.uk/rickygervais
